MANN-FILTER and Steffen Faas celebrate successful end to the season in Jarama

It was the final race of the season of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship in Spain last weekend. Steffen Faas, who has been competing in a racing giant supported by MANN-FILTER the entire season, put in another strong performance on the final race weekend.

Ludwigsburg, October 7, 2024 – The elite of truck racing met to compete in the season finale of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship over the weekend. The championship trophies were awarded in Jarama, Spain, last Sunday. Although the fight for the title of overall winner and Chrome champion had already been decided, drivers and teams once again showcased exciting racing action. Premium filtration brand MANN-FILTER finished the season in third place in the Chrome Championship together with the tankpool24 Racing Team and driver Steffen Faas.

Positive conclusion after the season finale by truck driver and team boss Steffen Faas

MANN-FILTER racing driver Steffen Faas, who is not only behind the wheel of the tankpool24 Racing Team truck, but also manages the racing team off the track, drew some positives from the season finale: "The start on Saturday was very good with ninth and seventh places. We did well in qualifying, but unfortunately there were a few tight situations in the race." These resulted in damage to the engine. The team worked half the night to send the truck to the starting grid the next day. A well-balanced team and passion for racing paid off once again.

The final day of racing began for racers exactly like the previous one had ended – with an accident. Luckily the tankpool24 Racing Team was not involved. After a late start to qualifying, Steffen Faas had to settle for 12th position on the grid. The race itself provided some #Mambamania racing action at the end.

“The start was great and I was able to make up a lot of positions relatively quickly,” says the truck racer. "In the last lap, I was able to catch up and overtake again. That was fun!" A solid eighth place made for a conciliatory end to a chaotic race day.

Third place in the Chrome Championship

"We are all very happy that we were able to evolve our engine again this year and that we were once again able to compete this season until the end. However, we were very unlucky this year, especially when it came to qualifying. Among other things, we struggled with the brake disks in Le Mans and with the steering in Most. But it goes to show that the race trucks here are prototypes and not production vehicles. That's why we're also very proud that we came third in the Chrome Championship and were able to gift MANN-FILTER a good result."

MANN-FILTER delighted to receive bronze medal at end of season

An exciting racing season has come to an end for MANN-FILTER. Exciting moments and many experiences in a season full of highs and lows that need settle in first. MANN-FILTER would like to thank the tankpool24 Racing Team and Steffen Faas for a great season and many shared memories.
