MANN-FILTER Mamba goes into Beast Mode
The Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER will be all fired up when it kicks off the 2024 DTM season with the spectacular Mamba and driver Lucas Auer in Oschersleben, Germany, on the last weekend of April.
Ludwigsburg, April 22, 2024. The 2024 DTM is promising to be a real hit. Top-class GT3 racing cars from seven different brands will meet for the first time at the season opener from April 26 to 28 at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in the Magdeburger Börde region of Germany—and the "Mamba" will be at the heart of the thrilling action. Taking the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT3, which is being promoted by the Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER, is an established master of his field, Austrian Lucas Auer. With nine race wins, the 29-year-old from Kufstein in Tyrol is currently one of the most successful DTM drivers. In the 2022 season, "Luggi" only narrowly missed out on the DTM championship title in a dramatic season finale.
The team from WINWARD Racing will be entering the GT3 racing car with approximately 550 hp and featuring the striking yellow-green of the Ludwigsburg premium filtration brand. Winward Racing is a German-American team that runs its European racing operations from Altendiez near Limburg in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, with former professional racing driver Christian Hohenadel as team principal.
"Mamba tamer" Lucas Auer is going into the first race full of energy: "I’m really looking forward to the season and competing in the Mamba. MANN-FILTER has made an excellent name in motorsport in recent years, and I am proud to be able to drive a racing car in this cool design. We have ambitious goals and are well prepared for the start of the season. Everyone in the Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER is highly motivated and work is totally focused on winning this year's fiercely competitive championship. We are all looking forward to the kick-off at Oschersleben Motorsport Arena!"
Filippina Manou, MANN-FILTER Sponsorship Manager, adds: "With WINWARD Racing as our partner, we at MANN-FILTER are convinced that we are heading in the right direction. We know what this season will demand of us all—and how strong the competition will be. However, we are also sure that the team around Christian Hohenadel is well-prepared and will do anything to achieve the no-fault job required at this level. As a partner, we can't wait to see the yellow-green MANN-FILTER Mamba in Beast Mode and are really looking forward to seeing the fans and customers on site."
